The Claims Training/Workshop was well appreciated by the entire claims team.
The information presented was very relevant and timely.
For some of us, some of the material was a refresher, while others were new and enlightening. We had a better appreciation of the basis for some of the principles and reasons for how claims are handled, stemming from the various Acts and case precedents. The delivery was also good, as we were given sample cases to analyse and live examples to discuss.
We were also made to understand how Insurers viewed claims that are presented, with the understanding of how we need to differentiate ourselves as the Broker of choice.
Ms. Brown was very accommodating, and slowed down at times, to ensure that no one was left behind in understanding what was being communicated. Her objective was to ensure that at the end, each person should be able to think things through and be able to problem solve, without always asking for assistance from supervisor/manager.
The presentation slides were given to us near the end of the workshop, along with a more detailed Manual which we will always have as part of our "Tool Kit". These should make us more efficient, skillful and confident in handling claims for our valued clients.
The Claims Officer's workshop was very impactful and left me feeling empowered based on the following:-
